MY STORY

A life spent looking at the wild

I was born and raised in USA, at the edge of the forests I now guide people through. As a kid, I turned over every rock I could find and spent nights following the sound of frogs into the dark. What started as curiosity became a career — and then a way of life.

For more than a decade I’ve been leading expeditions across Costa Rica and Latin America, focused on herpetology, wildlife photography, and the small details that most travelers walk past. Boas curled in tree hollows. Eyelash vipers barely bigger than a coin. Glass frogs whose hearts you can see beating through their skin.

My philosophy is simple: slow down and look closer. The most extraordinary wildlife encounters don’t happen when you cover the most ground — they happen when you stop and let the forest reveal itself. That’s what Ecology by Anderson is built on: small groups, unhurried days, and time to actually see what’s around you.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned naturalist, my job is to make sure the wild does the talking. I just point.
